WSOP and GGPoker Partnership Announced for Ontario
In a new online poker room for the region, Ontarians will soon raise their stakes with WSOP and GGPoker. An announcement from the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and GGPoker Network revealed the joint venture launching as WSOP.CA in April 2022.
The platform still requires full licensing from iGaming Ontario, but Canadians from the region can enjoy loyalty programs and a range of unique advantages once they clear this hurdle. Poker star, Daniel Negreanu, endorsed the collaboration of the internationally recognised brands and expressed how thrilled he is about the news, being a native Ontarian himself.
Canada’s newest online casino market in Ontario will launch on 4 April, positioning the new poker room for tremendous success.
Poker Player’s Delight
Poker players in Ontario can expect the excellent GGPoker software with WSOP tournaments and satellites at their fingertips. GGPoker ambassador, Daniel Negreanu, commented on the partnership:
“As a proud Ontario native, I’m thrilled that poker’s two greatest brands have come together to launch WSOP.CA and offer the Ontario poker community the perfect place to play online. You’ll be seeing exclusive WSOP rewards and tournaments running on GGPoker’s amazing app – what’s not to love about that?”
Casino giant Caesars Entertainment backs their poker branch, WSOP in partnership with GGPoker and punters who use the new platform will automatically accumulate Caesars loyalty points. Players can use these points at land-based casinos throughout North America in the Caesars chain of venues for amenities and accommodation at the hotels.

Ontarians who currently play with GGPoker can transfer their profile to the new platform and take advantage of the launch offers.
Double Suited
GGPoker and WSOP have an established relationship, and the online partnership brims with potential. GGPoker offers unrivalled online poker software, and WSOP is the Godfather of poker tournaments. Ontarians get the best of both wrapped in one platform, plus the advantages of Caesar’s loyalty program. If all goes to plan, an early April launch puts them in a sweet spot for the WSOP Summer Series playing out between 31 May and 20 July.
WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart invited Ontarian gamblers:
“We look forward to seeing Ontarians qualify for the live WSOP in Las Vegas this summer and challenge native son Daniel Negreanu for a gold bracelet.”
The only thing missing now is the iGaming Ontario licence to operate in the region once its market opens on 4 April. A league of platforms received news of their approval, and announcements of new licensees rolled in regularly. WSOP and GGPoker will join top names in the igaming industry as licensed providers in the most populous region of the Great White North.
More WSOP in Ontario
The brand launch in Ontario paves the way for more poker action in the region, and players can expect exclusive main event packages. On-the-ground promotions and GGPoker ambassador events are on the cards in Toronto, and talks of a live WSOP Circuit event in Windsor indicate there is more to come for Canadians.
